Born in Huelva, Spain, he moved to the province of Valencia in 1972, where he studied at atechnical school and then traveled to Madrid, Granada, and other major Spanish cities to　study directly with guitar makers. He has developed a diverse lineup of guitars in a price　range from beginner to middle class, while actively obtaining input from guitarists such as　David Leiva. The models feature unique head shapes, rosettes, and other designs, and use　wood that has a strong visual impact.

Juan Montes Rodriguez 2014 model 146-AES is in stock, Back and sides are Central and　South American rosewood, the so-called flamenco negra. There is a label above the brand　label stating that it was supervised by David Leiva. There are some minor scratches around　the golpe board, but it is in good condition for a flamenco that is 10 years old. The thick　polyurethane coating is a little peeling in some areas. There are traces of string height　adjustment by shaving the bridge where the saddle is attached.
