[Profile]

Born in 1960 in Gifu. After working as a craftsman, he decided to make guitars and joined Yukihide Chai's guitar workshop in Nagano Prefecture at the age of 34. After three years of apprenticeship, he became independent and opened his own workshop in Gifu. He is a member of the Japan String Instrument Makers Association.

His guitars are well-built with attention to detail, and he is flexible in incorporating modern elements such as double tops and raised fingerboards. His guitars have always maintained a high standard in terms of ease of playability, volume, and acoustic balance, and are steadily expanding their user base.

[Description]

The Makoto Teramachi Production MT-2 Spread 2009 is now in stock. This is a mid-range model in the brand's lineup, which includes the MT-1 through MT-3 grades (each of which has a traditional style and a double top).

The characteristics of his work are precise craftsmanship, an engineering approach to acoustics, and a restrained aesthetic. Perhaps it is his personality, or perhaps his aesthetics, but the 'Spread' is an attractive instrument with a good balance of technical and mechanical qualities.

The sound is natural, with a calm, gentle coloration, excellent responsiveness to touch, and an overall excellent acoustic balance. The 640 mm short scale makes it easy to play for smaller hands and women.

There is a shallow scratch (2 to 5 cm) around the sound hole and a scratch on the lower part of the bridge due to the replacement of strings. There are no cracks or other major repairs.
