[Profile]
Yoshimitsu Hoshino was born in Sapporo in 1942 and started his career as a guitar maker at the age of 20 under Sakazo Nakade. After 6 years of training, he spent 2 years in Europe visiting famous guitar workshops such as Freta, Aguado, Hauser, etc. to further his learning. Later, at the age of 28, he opened a workshop in Tokyo. Since then, he has continued his steady production activities for more than 40 years, but now he has retired, and this is a valuable brand available only on the used market. The selection of high-quality materials, the elegant appearance, high workmanship, and well-designed acoustics make it one of the best in Japan. The tone is rich and expressive, yet stoic and restrained, giving rise to the brand's unique taste. The brand is highly acclaimed by guitarists outside of Japan, including Göran Söllscher and Ariel Asselborn,

[Description]
We are pleased to announce the arrival of the 1999 No.209 spruce/indian rosewood 633mm short scale version made by Yoshimitsu Hoshino. This model has Hauser-like acoustic balance (keyboard instrument-like unity from bass to treble), but the sound is not as hard and harsh as Hauser's, but rather a little lighter and more graceful. Its response is quick, with a natural drive to move the player forward. The tone is rather monotone, as is typical of the brand, but it is diverse and varied nonetheless. This combination of Hauser-like acoustic balance and deep expressiveness is the greatest appeal of this maker, and even the short-scale model has it perfectly.
The sound board is finished in shellac and the back and sides in cashew, a combination that is standard for the brand. The sound board has some minor scratches and there are some string hits on the lower part of the bridge. There is no history of cracks or other repairs.
