[Profile]
Paulino Bernabe I (1932-2007) is a maker in Madrid, Spain. It is well known that he himself played well and learned to play the guitar from Tarrega's disciple Daniel Fortea. As a guitar maker, with the deep trust of José Ramirez III, he has long been the chief craftsman at his workshop, supporting the golden age of this giant brand. After that, he became independent in 1969 and continued to make unique guitars by his own method while inheriting the traditional method, and won the gold medal at the International Craft Expo in Munich in 1974. And he made the ten-string guitar that Narciso Yepes loves. He died in 2007, but now his son has taken over the workshop and is highly regarded as one of the leading brands in Madrid, Spain.
[Description]
Paulino Bernabe Concierto model 2020 cedar sound board is now in stock.
Since around 2000, Bernabé has been cataloging more than 4 different models (currently 5 models: Concierto, Especial, Torres, and Royal), each of which is ranked according to the grade of wood used, etc. This model is an introductory model of the above. This model is an introductory model. However, this model is one of the professional series of this prestigious brand, and its quality is assured.
The Bernabe's unique structural ingenuity, sensitivity to the needs of the times, and the exquisiteness of the landing point for incorporating them into a traditional style are also outstanding among the Madrid School.
Compared to the previous Concierto model, this model has a thinner board, lighter overall weight (1.60 kg), and thinner paint. This is why the flamenco guitar's rawness, quick response, and dry wood resonance have been pursued to the limit, giving it great power and just the right amount of color.
The body is rather large, but the strings are moderately tensioned, and the neck is a rather thin C-shape type, so it feels very compact in the left hand. There are only a few minor scratches on the treble side of the fretboard and the underside of the soundhole, and there are no other major repairs such as cracks. The neck, frets, and other parts related to playability are also in good condition. The original specifications and storage manual (in English) are included.
