[Profile]
Antonio Raya Ferrer was born in 1980 in Granada, Spain, where he still works today. His father, Antonio Raya Pardo (1950-2022), was one of the leading guitar makers in Granada and was particularly popular in Japan. His mother, Pilar Ferrer, is the granddaughter of Eduardo Ferrer (1905-1988), the most important figure in the formation of the current Granada School.
Antonio began working in his father's workshop at the age of 14, and by the age of 17, he started producing guitars under his own label. He has the utmost respect for Granada's traditions and is aware of his responsibility as their heir. Like his father, he initially began his career with a brand that featured an appealing style—somewhat soft and simple. Over time, he has established himself as a highly refined and talented craftsman.
[Description]
The Antonio Raya Ferrer 2025 New No. 250 is now in stock. This substantial new work comes from a brand that is poised to be part of the next generation of the Granada School. While rooted in the Granada tradition, it is a sophisticated fusion of modern sensibilities and craftsmanship, resulting in a clean and powerful instrument.
The sound is bright and resonant, with a raw character that is characteristic of the Granada School, but not too dry. The sound image is refined and lustrous. Each string has a clear identity while forming a unified whole, contributing to the depth of the sculpture when played.
The exterior also features a fresh Granada-like appearance, with a high degree of perfection down to the finest details of construction and the beautiful finish of the shellac.
