[Profile]
Kenji Hirokawa is a guitar maker from Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan, and after building his first guitar at the age of 20, he taught himself the art of guitar making and continued to make guitars while working as an office worker. As he built more and more guitars with the same tone as the best overseas guitars, he began to get attention locally, and professional guitarists began to order his guitars. After retiring, he set up a store and repair workshop to sell his guitars, and his son (in charge of making flamenco guitars) joined him and continues to make guitars today.

[Description]
We are pleased to announce the arrival of No.85 made by Kenji Hirokawa in 2003, a model probably based on German master craftsman Hermann Hauser's guitars in terms of the shape of the sound board, internal construction, rosette design, and the V-joint system for joining the neck and head (head shape is Hirokawa's original). Although it is a classic model, a golpe board made of maple wood is attached to the treble side of the sound board. The back is a 3-piece made of Indian rosewood and Central and South American rosewood in the center. The sound is homogeneous from bass to treble, with clear treble and a surprisingly mellow bass for a model of this type, with a balance of resonance that allows the melody of the treble to clearly emerge. It has a calm sound that is more Japanese than the original Hauser's harshness and Spanish flamboyance, with fine variations in expression, and this is what makes this instrument so appealing.
The entire surface is lacquered and shows weather checks due to aging. The sound board has minor scratches and dents, but there is no history of cracks or other repairs. There is also a rather rough touch-up repair of 1cm x 2cm. The string length is 624mm with 20 frets.
